Details
- Botanical Name: Homalomena 'Emerald Gem'
- Common Names: Emerald Gem Plant, Queen of Hearts, Shield Plant
- Description: An Emerald Gem plant or Homalomena, native to tropical Asia and South America, is an upright plant with dark green, waxy, spade-shaped leaves. Since these plants are usually about 12-30" tall, it makes them ideal for areas with height restrictions. Although an Emerald Gem plant is a relative of the easy-care philodendron, it is a bit more finicky and requires more attention. They like to have their soil kept moist but never soggy.
Plant Care
Every plant has different care needs. Please refer to the product description above for specific light, watering, humidity, and placement recommendations for this plant.
As a general rule, check the soil before watering, avoid letting plants sit in standing water, and adjust care based on your home’s light, temperature, and season.
Plants are living things, so appearance, size, color, and growth pattern may vary slightly from the photos shown.
